NOT SO SLEEPY!

Gage has always been a great sleeper! I even blogged a couple weeks ago about him sleeping in until 9! Recently there has been a change in his habits. He is still sleeping well... it is getting him to sleep that we are having problems with! He is a night owl! He would normally fall asleep with a bottle in my arms or Todd's between 9 and 10! Now we are lucky if he goes to sleep before 11 and when we do put him to bed... if he isn't sleeping... he SCREAMS to the top of his lungs and rolls around thrashing in his bed! When he rolls onto his belly he has a hard time rolling back over onto his back... so if he falls asleep on his belly he wakes up and 3 or 4 SOAKING WET, because he pees right up threw his diaper! Or, sometimes when we put him to bed he POOPS and will wake himself up from a dead sleep... we get up and change him (If he wakes up, if he doesn't he sleeps in his poop all night and has had a rash on his bottom for 2 weeks now!) and we can't get him to go back to sleep! I end up staying awake with him because my subbing is pretty spiratic... but it is hard for me to have ANY energy whether I am subbing or not, to do anything the next day if I have been awake with him all night! AHHHHHH!!!! It is just really frustrating and I really feel bad leaving him in his crib to cry himself to sleep! He sounds so sad! It breaks my heart! Does anyone have any suggestions?

Gage's Fingers and Feet

This is Gage's left hand. You can see that the last 2 fingers are considerably smaller than the rest!

This is Gage's right hand. His middle finder is a nub, which will most likely be removed in the near future! The rest of his fingers are mostly smaller than they should be! His thumb on the right side has no nail and is small.

I promised a long time ago that I would post pictures of Gage's fingers and feet so you can see what I am talking about when I talk about his fingers and or legs! I want to make people more aware of what he was born with! Gage was born with what is called Amniotic Band Syndrome! It is a freak thing that happens in the mother's womb while the baby is floating around! The womb is made up of fibrous bands that come together. Sometimes those bands break off and can get tangled around body parts! That is exactly what happened to Gage! I hope these pictures help you see exactly what has happened to Gage! He is still cute as a button and we love him no matter what! It could have been so much worse than what it is! He is our miracle!

The above picture you can see how his toes are short and his big toe nails are not there.

You can see in the above picture, the ring around the tops of his ankles! That is where the doctors at the Shriner's Hospital told us that he could have been born with out feet if the band would have fused together!

This one you can see a little bit of his fingers! The tip of his middle finger is very small and tight! He may eventually loose the tips of some of his fingers!

TOOTH NUMBER 6

Yup that is correct! Gage now has 6 teeth at 7.5 months old! Don't put your finger in his mouth you might come back with a nub! (No pun intended Gage!)

I can sit up!

I am a LOT behind on my blogging!

I don't think I mentioned in Gage's 7 month post that he can sit up like a big boy!! Actually now that I am typing this I told ya'll when I posted about Gage's fun time in the bath! But anyway, this is a great picture taken my Gage's Grandpa McCann at their house! He is TOO cute!

9 A.M.

I love my son! For the last 3 weeks he has allowed me to sleep in until 9! I wake up at 8 expecting to hear him... but I don't! I don't know why he is sleeping until 9 because his bedtime has not changed! Gage goes to sleep between 9 and 10, I know that is kind of late for a baby his age but that is just what his "clock" is set for! Hey, I am not complaining!! YEAH! Thank you Gage you are the best son a mommy could ask for!
