Exersaucer Fun

This is Colby trying to find somewhere to sit while Todd was putting the exersaucer together because there were papers and boxes everywhere!! He ended up under the table!

We put together Gage's exersaucer yesterday! I was so excited because he has pretty good control of his head and neck now so I wanted to put the exersaucer into use. I was also curios to see if Gage would like it! Well, by the time Todd got it put together last night Gage was very cranky and wanted his cereal bottle and to go to bed so he didn't even get to try it out. As soon as he woke up this morning I fed him his morning bottle and then put him right in it! HE LOVED IT!! It was so cute. He caught on so fast. It was really cool to watch him explore and see how to make the toys make music and how to get the lights to flash! I was the proudest mommy ever!!!

We went to visit my real dad this weekend and my stepmom Fran. Some of you LOYAL readers may know that I do not have much communication with my real Dad. A lot of things have happened in the past and we have not always had the best relationship. On a positive note I really think that he is trying to change and he realizes what he lost for so many years. Now that he has grandkids I think he is finally realizing the importance of family. So, we were invited to a cook out at his house for my brother and stepsister Baily's birthdays. I was very nervous about taking Gage over there because my dad is a drinker and I don't really want my son around that. But Mark (may dad) called my sister and said that he would not drink and he wanted to make sure that he did things right this time around... he didn't want to screw things up anymore! (For those of you who know the situation that is REALLY great! It is a big step for him to even admit that drinking is a problem for him) Anyway, we went over there and we had a really great time! It was the first time since I was about 13 that all three of us kids were there at the same time and now we all have kids. I think my dad was in his glory! He was happy as can be and we all really enjoyed ourselves. This was the first time in a LONG time that I felt comfortable around them and was really able to enjoy myself and my dad!! I am very thankful to God that he has been able to help my family heal and I am looking forward to much more healing in the future!

Big Boy Bath

So, Gage has graduated to using his tittle tub in the big tub!! Since he was born I have been bathing him in his tub on the kitchen counter! The other day I realized that I couldn't fill his tub with enough water because he is SOOOOOO big! So, he was trying to splash and have fun but wasn't having very much success. So yesterday I decided to put his tub in the big tub and fill up the water higher! OMG!! He has so much fun! I was the cutest thing I have ever seen. He splashed so much and was making himself laugh it was very very cute. He has always loved having a bath but he loves it even more now!! He played in the tub until his lip was quivering... he wanted to play more but I didn't want him to get too cold!! I hope you enjoy the video! PLEASE don't mind my blabbering durning the video! Sleepy Mommy not so SLEEPY Baby!!

It is 8:34 in the A.M. and Gage has been awake since 2:30 A.M.!! AHHHH!!! I am so tired! He hasn't done this since he was about 4 or 5 weeks old! He has been really good about going to bed between 9 and 10 and staying asleep until 7 or 8!!! I sure do hope he takes a LONG nap today!!!

TEETHING???

Gage's new favorite thing is to EAT his hands! He is always sticking his fists in his mouth and sucking on them! Sometimes he gets his little nub in there and I think he is going to suck it right off! He is so cute!! So, I am not sure if he is in the beginning stages of teething or if he just likes the taste of his fists!!! HA!!

The sweetest cry ever

After the shower Todd was feeding Gage his cereal bottle and Gage had to burp.... so Todd was trying to burp him and he was "crying", if that is what you call it, the cutest cry I have ever heard! So I jumped up and grabbed the camera! Turn up the volume on your computer so you can hear him! Sorry it is dark... we had the lights dimmed so Gage could fall asleep!

Diaper Shower

Today my church put on a diaper shower for both Baby Gage and Baby Ava! It was a lot of fun and we got a lot of diapers! I can't tell you how much fun it is having a baby at the same time my sister is! When she first told me she was pregnante too I have to admit I was a little bumbed! I thought that this was "MY" time to shine and it was "MY" babies time to be in the spot light!! I soon got over that when I thought about how much fun it was for me to grow up with my cousins who were just a few months younger or older than me! I can't imagine what it would be like doing the whole pregnancy and baby thing without having my sister right there with me experiencing the same thing!!! (It is also nice to have another person who is FAT with me!! I don't feel so alone in that area!! HA HA!!!) These babies have brought my sister and I so much closer! It is so awesome to see her as an aunt to Gage and a Mommy to Ava!!!

FIRST PLAY DATE!!!

Today Gage enjoyed his very first play date! We went to the Clio Park with my sister and her baby Ava, our mutual friend Amanda and her baby Michael, and my nephew Dylan. We packed a lunch and brought a blanket and sat in the park for almost 3 hours! I was nice and relaxing! Getting out of the house was AWESOME!!! It was nice to have ADULT conversations we the girls!! The babies had a great time too! Gage, being the oldest baby was the most alert and he was great! He had so much fun just laying on the blanket!!! We layed the babies next to each other they all ended up hitting each other in the face with their flailing arms!!! It was so cute!

Baby Belly!!!

I am posting pictures of my belly because I need to be held accountable by SOMEONE to loose weight! I gained about 45 pounds during my pregnancy. After I had the baby I quickly lost about 25 pounds! I was really excited that my weight was coming off soooooo fast! But lately my weight is at a stand still!! YUCK!! I hate looking the way I do and I know I need to do something about it! People keep saying that I look great and don't even look like I had a baby.... (which is nice to hear) but tell that to the CLOTHES in my HUGE closet that don't FIT!

So for the last 2 weeks I have been exercising a LOT! I walk by the high school by my house which is about a 2 mile walk... I do TURBO JAM... and I got rid of all of the sweets in our house!!! Hopefully I will shed these last 20 pounds so I can fit back into my jeans!! So here are some pictures of my belly BEFORE I loose the weight... I am going to keep you updated on my weight loss... I feel like this is a great way for me to be held accountable!!! PLEASE DON'T LAUGH AT MY CHUBBINESS!!!!!

The weekend

I know it is Tuesday and I should have posted yesterday about the weekend but we VERY busy yesterday.

Friday:Todd went out with his buddies because I am going out with the girls this Friday... so I decided to hang out with my parents! I love hanging out with them! They picked us up at about 11:30 and we went to Applebees! Then we stopped at a few garage sales. My Dad stayed in the car with the baby while we went and looked! Then we went to Lowes and my mom got a brand new refridgerater... she is sooo spoiled!! After that we went to my parents house and Gage and I hung out there until about 11! We had a blast and he loves his NENE and PAPA!!

SATURDAY: We went to help Todd's siter move into her new house!! We left our house at about 10 and headed down to help her move. We stayed at her house hanging out with Todd's parents and talking until about 5ish... then we headed home! Gage had a great time hanging out with his Grandma and Grandpa McCann. He was so happy it was really cute!!

SUNDAY: We went to church... and then to my parents house for Dylan's birthday party! He is 7!! I can't believe he is that old. We had a great time hanging out with the family on Sunday and then we went home and hung out just the three of us!!

BUSSY WEEKEND!!!!!!

10 Hours!!!

Gage slept for 10 straight hours, for the very first time, last night!!! HAPPY FACE!!!

Entertainment!!

These are three things that will keep Gage entertained for a little while! (These keep me from going insaine!)

This swing is amazing! If you have a young baby or are expecting a young baby I would HIGHLY suggest the cradle swing! It is amazing. I had a "regular" swing at first but Gage hated it so I took it back to Babies R Us and they let me get this one! He loves it and it will keep him sleeping for hours!!!

Thanks to my TEACHER friends who bought this for me!! Gage will entertain himself for a LONG time with this play mat! It is also good for him because he grabs the toys and holds on to them, great physical therapy for his little fingers!!!

So Much Love!

All my life I have always said that I didn't want to be a stay at home mom! I have never had any interest in it and always wanted to be a teacher and have my career! I even said when I was pregnant that I wanted to go back to work at the end of the summer!

Yesterday I had a job interview! YEAH!! But as I got ready for the interview and fed Gage his morning bottle I realized that (hopefully) in a few weeks I will be doing this every day and I will be leaving Gage for almost 8 hours every day! I will be honest I started to cry while I was trying to do my hair. It hadn't hit me yet that I would miss him sooooo much!

I honestly never thought I would feel that way! I always thought it would be "no big deal" to go back to work and leave Gage with his Grandma and Grandpa McCann, but honestly I am already feeling anxious about it. (I am tearing up as I am typing)!

It is absolutely amazing how much love you can have for one little boy! I love him more than ANYTHING in this world. I know that even if I don't get a teaching job that I will have to at least sub for the school year because we can not afford for me not to bring home a paycheck! But I am not looking forward to that first day of leaving my little boy.

My prayer today is for God to help me not feel anxious about going back to work!

Bed Time

This is Baby AVA and Baby Gage sleeping on the couch last Sunday at Nene and Papa's house!!!


So I put Gage on a bedtime sleep schedule this past week! Before last Monday Gage was going to bed WHENEVER he wanted to! Sometimes 8, 9, 10, even 12 or 1! I figure since I (hopefully) will be going back to teaching in the fall I wouldn't want to be up at 12 or 1! So, I started giving him cereal in his bottle around 8:30 and he falls asleep drinking his bottle and I put him in his bed!! I was amazed on how fast he caught on! Now, even if he has eaten @ 7... he will automatically get fussy around 8:30 and want his cereal bottle! It has only been a week and he is already on a great schedule! He sleeps until about 5 and wakes up for another bottle and goes back to sleep and sometimes doesn't wake up until 9 or 10 if I am lucky! I have an awesome baby!!!
